As a result of an accidental side trip, we ended up having lunch in Great Smokie Mountain N.P.
Brennan spent some time tromping on the river rocks.
...with Dad's help, of course.
Another side trip took us to Metropolis, IL--home of the world's largest superman statue.
It was HOT at the St. Louis Zoo, but Brennan found a way to cool off.
Does he look like hippo food?
Grandpa Mike and the boys waiting for the sea lion show.
Of course, it just wouldn't be a trip to STL without seeing the arch.
And sure enough, there it is.
We rode up to the top to check out the view from the tallest man-made monument in the U.S.
At Grandpa Mike's house, it was finally time for the much-anticipated Skippy-ride.
Which Brennan thoroughly enjoyed, we might add.
The last stop on our trip was camping at Mammoth Cave N.P.
Would it be camping without roasted marshmallows?
The cave was pretty cool--literally, too. It was quite a relief to get out of the heat.
